Growing lettuce in the tropics
Lettuce is of many different types and has a myriad of uses in salads, sandwiches, cold pastas, etc. Learning how to grow romaine lettuce indoors has numerous advantages especially for those living in a hot or cold area as this kind of leafy vegetable cannot withstand high or low temperatures. With temperate settings of the Aeroponics system it can be grown in tropical or cold climates as well indoor. The growing time is considerably shortened and the produce is healthy and organic because of the unique way of cultivation.
Controlling the temperature of the roots of the plant allows for growing any variety anywhere in the world. Thus, strains like romaine lettuce, butterhead lettuce and Batavia lettuce, which could only be grown under temperate conditions, can be easily grown in the tropics. You need to take care of a few things. Make sure that the thermostat of the apparatus is working perfectly, especially since the plants would wilt under room temperatures. Whenever you need to add a nutrient solution, first cool it down to the requisite temperature, and then introduce it into the system.
If you take a little care, what should not take more than a few minutes a day, you can harvest and enjoy your own organic produce all year around regardless of the average temperature outside or the sudden weather change in your area.
