Millions of men are becoming inspired by culinary shows
For decades it has been told that a womens place in a relationship is to stay at home with the children to carry out all the domestic chores. Mankind has stereotyped the female sex to be the carer and to know her role in the kitchen to cook and clean. But according to a new survey, the responsibilities of genders are evolving over time and now more men are doing the cooking. Findings by a frozen foods company called Ross Burgers revealed that millions of men have been inspired by cooking shows on television to improve their culinary skills.
The study found 44% of men now prepare all family meals because they really enjoy cooking whereas two-thirds of females questioned saw cooking as a chore and really dreading doing it. Many years ago it would have normal for the men of the family to be the breadwinners, to go out to work and to bring home the goods. It was also the womans job to make sure the house was spotlessly clean, the children had been fed, washed and dressed, and also that there was food on the table for her husband when he came home.
However, times have changed a fair bit and the general attitudes within our modern society have progressed and its common now for the woman of the family to earn more than her husband and also to finish work later, meaning; the guys often end up cleaning the house and he preparing tea. The survey which asked 2,000 people showed that when it was the womans duty to slave over a hot grill, make sure all of the sides and splashbacks were cleaned down and also to wash all of the cutlery, it isnt anymore. Industry experts claim the results can only be seen as positive for making many different families lives easier throughout the UK.
Shock findings in the published study show that one sixth of women confess that they never cook because they dont know how to so many of them depend on their male partners abilities. It could be suggested that men may be becoming greater cooks and curious about making scrumptious cuisine but it is women who have the eye for interior design. Macho chefs like Gordon Ramsay may be fuelling the trend of men dominating the kitchen however; the d©cor in a home can always use the female touch to transform it from drab to chic.
According to the study, people aged 55 and over were the ones who enjoyed cooking the most, saying that they really love spending time in their kitchen rustling something up. The survey also found that the least confident cooks in the UK are from Liverpool and that the vast majority of people in York really do enjoy cooking. If youre one who devotes a lot of your spare time to one room in the house, why not make sure its stylish and that the d©cor is how you like it to be. A few little furnishings here and there like a coloured glass work top, fancy salt and pepper pot and also matching tableware can really change a kitchen and make it the heart of your house.
